The divorce may have been filed, but the battle is far from over for Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie! The famous exes — who tied the knot back in 2014 — are still at odds with one another, and it doesn’t sound like things will be getting better between them anytime soon.

In May, Brad opened up to GQ Style about their shocking split, however, it wasn’t until last week that Angie sat down with Vanity Fair for her first big post-breakup interview. Yet while Brad’s sit down was widely viewed as a humbling, Angelina’s — released on July 26 — was filled with some serious shade aimed towards her ex. She said that the kids have “been very brave… in times they needed to be.” She added, “We’re all just healing from the events that led to the filing… They’re not healing from divorce. They’re healing from some… from life, from things in life.”

Her meaning is crystal clear. A friend told In Touch exclusively, “It’s Angelina’s pointed way of saying that the kids are healing from Brad. And he’s hurt. He feels she’s still making him out to be the villain and can’t stand that.” The 53-year-old father has come to expect it, though, especially after the bitter war she waged against him last fall, blindsiding him with a divorce announcement and claiming she ended their marriage “for the health of the family.” This was also around the time details leaked about an incident between Brad and Maddox on a private plane, which sparked a lengthy child protective services investigation. “The jabs are just going to continue. Angie did it after the plane incident and will use any platform to try to make Brad look bad,” said the insider. “She still has so much lingering anger over the divorce and her failure to secure sole custody of the kids after he was cleared of any wrongdoing.”

But Brad has refused to retaliate. “Angie takes some strong shots at Brad in the Vanity Fair interview,” said the friend, “but he’s keeping quiet about it and soldiering on.” Added the insider, “He is taking the high road once again, but it’s very challenging.” It’s a stark contrast to his own interview, in which he took responsibility for his role in the split, admitted to a drinking problem, and refused to give specifics about their children — Maddox, 16, Pax, 13, Zahara, 12, Shiloh, 11, and twins Vivienne and Knox, 9. Said the insider, “Angie’s interview featured the reporter meeting and interacting with the kids and included details about their lives in the story. Angie made it very clear that the kids are hers and she would discuss them as much as she wanted to.”

Brad, however, is refusing to fight back. “He feels like Angelina did a lot of acting to portray him as the bad guy and to blame him for tearing the family apart,” said the friend. “But he’s rising above it. He’s gone through recovery and done a lot of healing and self-improvement over the past nine months. Brad knows he’s in a good place with the kids, and that’s all that matters to him.”
