Josh Duggar Was Laying Low Before His Latest Arrest in Arkansas

Despite his past cheating scandal, he and wife Anna Duggar have been determined to make their love last. In March 2020, she gushed that he was her “best friend,” and they celebrated 11 years of marriage in September 2019. However, in an Instagram post looking back on their relationship, Anna did reference the “shadows of sorrow” they dealt with together.
“11 years ago, before God, our family and friends we said, ‘I do!’ — and, my, how the past 11 years have flown by!” she wrote. “The joys we’ve experienced together have far surpassed the shadows of sorrow we’ve walked through. Through it all, God’s kindness and grace has sustained us. I am thankful for the seven children He has given us together (five here/one in heaven/one due in Nov)! I love you so much, Joshua, and look forward to growing old together! (Gotta admit though … being young together is pretty fun too!)”
Josh is now a father of six, soon to be seven.
The couple, who already shared children Mackynzie, Michael, Marcus, Meredith, Mason, and Maryella, announced they were expecting their seventh child in April 2021, just days before Josh’s latest arrest.
“It’s a GIRL!!!!!” wrote Anna beside a video revealing the sex of the baby with her husband and six kids in a field. “We are overjoyed to announce baby seven is on the way and we can’t wait to hold her in our arms this fall!”
He’s still tight with his parents.
In January 2020, the parents enjoyed a date night with Josh’s mom and dad, Michelle and Jim Bob Duggar. The foursome spent a special evening together with baby Maryella in tow as they learned how to navigate their next seasons of life. After they snapped a photo, Anna thanked her in-laws for “unconditionally” loving them and sharing the best life advice. “Thanks Sweetie, Pops and Lolli for such a fun evening,” she wrote. “It was great to chat, laugh and have a great night out together!”
He had been holding down a job.
Prior to his arrest, Anna had defended Josh when a troll asked if he “worked” to support the family. “How do you afford all those kids? Does Josh even work?” the hater demanded to know. “Yes, my husband is a diligent worker and provides well for our family.” It’s unclear what he was doing to earn money, but it will likely be put on hold amid his arrest.

On April 29, 2021, In Touch confirmed Josh had been arrested by Homeland Security for undisclosed charges in Arkansas. At the time, he was being held in jail without bond and it was unclear when he would face trial.
