Our thoughts are with Julia Roberts and her family at this time, as ‘In Touch Weekly’ has exclusively learned the actress’s mother, Betty Lou Motes, has passed away in the early hours of this morning, Feb. 19.

She was 80-years-old.

A source tells the magazine she was at Saint John’s Health Center in Santa Monica, Calif. at the time of her passing. She was reportedly battling lung cancer.

The timing of this tragic event is extra heartbreaking for Betty’s family, as Feb. 9 marked one year since Nancy Motes — Betty’s daughter and Julia’s half-sister — committed suicide.

Following Nancy’s death, Betty was said to be living with the Oscar winner, her husband and three children in their LA home.
