Mariah Carey could use a ‘Hero’ after last night.

The legendary songstress broke down crying while singing her classic song on stage at the Beacon Theater in NYC on Monday, Dec. 15.

The 44-year-old singer appeared to be overwhelmed with passion and emotion as she tried to make it through the 1993 hit — and who can blame her with the year she and estranged husband Nick Cannon have had?

The duo separated back in August, and Nick revealed earlier this month that the two were officially living apart during an interview with ‘Good Morning America’s’ Lara Spencer.

“You and I were just talking, Mariah and you are separated, Christmas is about family first and foremost,” Lara said, to which the ‘America’s Got Talent’ host replied, “We’ll forever be family. At the same time, we’re there for our children, making them the No. 1 priority and understanding they’re loved and can have an amazing holiday.”
