What started off as a nice and relaxing day for Charlize Theron and Sean Penn quickly turned into a nightmare.

As the pair were on a morning hike on Thursday, a passerby called the cops and accused them of possibly harming the actress’ 2-year-old screaming son, Jackson, who was apparently having a tantrum.

The incident took place at Vasquez Rocks in Santa Clarita, Calif. When the female hiker heard the screams, she approached the young boy with her camera and began filming.

According to sources, the Oscar-winning beauty told the woman to step away from her son. After obliging, she left and called the police, claiming Jackson may have been in danger.

Once the cops responded to the scene, they quickly learned he was just upset because his mother put him on a timeout for bad behavior. They left after they determined the child was unharmed.

To summarize: Charlize and Sean had some coffee with a side of major drama this morning.
