Demi Lovato’s Sister Madison De La Garza Spills on What It’s REALLY Like to Be Demi’s Little Sis!

There are tons of people who wish they were Demi Lovato’s younger sister! But her real little sis, Madison De La Garza, has some bad news… It’s not all it’s cracked up to be — but not for the reason you may expect!

“I think when people say they wish Demi Lovato was their sister, they don’t realize how hard it is to be related to someone who’s constantly away on tour,” the 13-year-old tells Seventeen.

“But she’s good at making time for me. We text constantly.”

Of course, Madison is a lot more than just Demi’s sister. Fans may recognize the teen from her role as Juanita Solis on Desperate Housewives. More recently, she was a regular on the short-lived series Bad Teacher.

But when she’s back home with the “Cool For the Summer” singer, Madison says her relationship with Demi, 22, “is just like any other sisters.”

And being a big sister is a role Demi takes very seriously. When cyber-bullies attacked the teen’s physical appearance — calling her a “hunchback” because of her scoliosis — Demi immediately came to her sister’s defense.

“Demi freaked and direct-messaged people to yell at them, and she tweeted to stand up for me,” Maddie gushes.

“Sometimes I wish she wouldn’t give people attention — I’ve learned not to — but when people hate on me, she can’t really hold back. She’s strong and she’s a free spirit, and that’s what I love about her.”
