Andrew Keegan‘s name sounds familiar, right? If you don’t know him from the ultimate ’90s flick Camp Nowhere (the movie about a bunch of kids who fool their parents and create their own summer camp — awesome), you’ll recognize him from 1999’s 10 Things I Hate About You as Joey “Eat Me” Donner opposite Julia Stiles and the late Heath Ledger.

He hasn’t been on the big screen lately, but the Keegster is making headlines — and it has nothing to do with Hollywood. It turns out the now 35-year-old is the founder of his own religion, and the story behind how it all came to fruition is pretty, well, interesting.

Andrew has started a “spiritual movement” called Full Circle in Venice Beach, Calif.

It all began after he and two friends were attacked by alleged gang members in the city back in 2011. Needless to say, he was deeply affected by that. He was also deeply affected by the tsunami in Japan and “a series of events,” which led him to conclude that “the mission is to take the war out of our story, which is essentially peace, but activated peace.”

“I had a moment where I was looking at a street lamp and it exploded. That was a weird coincidence,” he told Vice. “At a ceremony, a heart-shaped rose quartz crystal was on the altar, and synchronistically, this whole thing happened. It’s a long story, but basically the crystal jumped off the altar and skipped on camera. That was weird.”

The facility holds meditation and yoga classes, political rallies and concerts.

According to Full Circle’s website in the “who we are” section, it reads: “We are artivists, thought-leaders, professionals and teachers…fulfilling our dreams of making a positive difference.”

The site also claims it’s a “Co-creative Collective, activating a next-level human experience.”

As for the name, Andrew explains, “Synchronicity. Time. That’s what it’s all about. Whatever, the past, some other time. It’s a circle; in the center is now. That’s what it’s about.”

And with that said, happy Monday…
