Our hearts are breaking for Kanye West’s extended family today — as it was revealed that his cousin Ricky Anderson lost his one-year-old son Avery.

Ricky, who works for Ye’s GOOD Music label as a consultant, confirmed his death on Instagram with a heartwarming post. He wrote, “Today was the worst day of my life!! I lost my lil man and gained an angel! Rest in paradise! I love you man.”

According to TMZ, the one-year-old old (whose mom is Ricky’s partner Erica Paige) died in his sleep; additionally, there were no signs of illness or distress prior to his passing.

Ricky and Avery previously made headlines when a picture of a then-newborn Avery and his older cousin North West went viral back in late 2015 — prompting many to believe that Kim Kardashian had already given birth to Saint (who was born just a few weeks after Avery).

Following news of Avery's death, it didn’t take long for friends and fans to flood the comments of Ricky’s Instagram with their support and condolences.

“Very saddened to ear the news. Prayers for you and your family during this difficult time,” one follower wrote on a video of Avery. Another added, “I feel really sorry for hat happened. Sending prayers and hopefully this little angel is in Heaven, laughing and spreading happiness. It [breaks] my heart, but patience and positivity is always key.”

This is the latest heartbreak in what has been an incredibly difficult couple of months for Kim and Kanye.

In October, Kim Kardashian was infamously robbed at gunpoint while in France for Paris Fashion Week, and for months, she remained out of the spotlight as she coped with the emotional and physical trauma in the aftermath of the robbery.

During that time, Kanye canceled the rest of his Saint Pablo tour and was checked into Cedars-Sinai as he dealt with “temporary psychosis” caused by dehydration and sleep deprivation.
