Taylor Swift made Billboard Music Awards history when the Artist of the Year accepted her award— and for the first time ever, thanked her “longest and best” relationship onstage!

Upon her win, the “Red” crooner took the stage at the MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas and poked fun at her romantic history.
“To the fans, who come to the shows and buy the albums, I just want you to know this one thing: You are the longest and best relationship I’ve ever had,” she said with a smile before leaving the podium. But Taylor’s been known to take public— and indiscreet— jabs at her exes, which include Jake Gyllenhaal, John Mayer and most recently, Harry Styles.
The star has had no qualms about detailing her romances gone wrong in tunes like “I Knew You Were Trouble,” “Back to December,” “Dear John,” “Picture to Burn,” and other chart-topping hits.
“I realize that my album is kind of on opposite ends of the intense, extreme emotional spectrum, like extremely in love, extremely heartbroken,” Taylor said during her speech. “Those are the crazy emotions and I just wanted to thank you for making my music the soundtrack to your crazy emotions.”
Earlier in the night, the 23-year-old singer performed her newest hit “22” for the first time on television.
Taylor also took home seven other Billboard Music Awards, including top Billboard 200 album for Red and top artist. She was first crowned Billboard’s Artist of the Year in 2008.
Check out her speech below— and wait for fans to erupt after her confession. Priceless.
