Talk about Prince Charming coming to the rescue!

Two teenage girls — one 16, the other 13 — who were swept out to sea in North Wales were thrilled when the British Royal Air Force turned up to save them, but were shocked to discover the search and rescue crew was led by none other than the future King of England — Prince William.

The girls clearly would have drowned after they were caught in a rip tide while body-boarding near Anglesey, Wales.

"When I got to her, the elder girl was clearly exhausted and was going under the water for what was the very last time," one of William’s crew, Winchman, Master Aircrew Harry Harrison, said. "We never know what we'll face when we're called out. Sometimes it's just a twisted ankle or a broken bone, but this was one rescue where we truly did arrive in the nick of time and managed to save two young lives."

The girls were transported to a nearby hospital where they were recovering.

Prince William, a search and rescue pilot since 2010, became a captain in June — just over a year after his marrage to Kate Middleton.
