Following the successful release of The Great Gatsby, everybody’s got Gatsby fever— even Jersey Shore’s own DJ Pauly D.
Yesterday, the famed disc jockey took to his Instagram account to share a photo of himself in dapper 1922 attire— much like that of the hit movie’s leading lad, Leonardo DiCaprio.
“#TheGreatDJGatsby !!!” he wrote with the pic.
Most notably, the “Back to Love” DJ ditched his famous blowout for a slicked-back ‘do. And he’s sure giving Leo a run for his money!
Both men are dead ringers for the charming millionaire, Jay Gatsby— but Leo also had emotional investment in the role, relating to the character's determination.
"I do identify certainly with someone who's manifested what he wanted [to become] as an adult and worked tirelessly and had such a great ambition to become that," he admits.
And film director, Baz Luhrmann says Leo was the perfect man for the role.
"You've got to have someone with screen charisma who can also deal with the complexity of the character, the darkness of the character," he says.
Clearly, they succeeded in finding that person. The Great Gatsby far exceeded expectations by distributor Warner Bros. of a $35 million to $40 million opening weekend with a $51.1 million debut.
But you be the judge— Who’s the better Gatsby: Leo or Pauly?
