Hospitalized — Actor
From the Throat
A new report claims paramedics were called to Val Kilmer's home after a 911 call was made Monday. The 'Batman Forever' star was reportedly hospitalized after bleeding from his throat
“Someone called 911 and reported bleeding,” a source told 'TMZ.' The ‘Top Gun’ star was then taken to UCLA Medical Center in Santa Monica where “doctors performed surgery” on what might be a throat tumor.
But Val has since taken to his Facebook page, denying the surgery ever took place.
"Thank you for all your sweet support. But I have not had a tumor, or a tumor operations, or any operation. I had a complication where the best way to receive care was to stay under the watchful eye of the ucla ICU," the 55-year-old wrote.
"Friends have assisted who know my spiritual convictions and have been most sensitive and kind for the extra effort in making sure there's minimum gossip and silly talk," he continued. "I am praying for a speedy return to the boards as they say. God bless you all and please don't worry. Love and deep affection, Val."
According to 'TMZ,' the actor has had medical problems with his mouth for quite some time, and his family members – he has a daughter Mercedes, 24, and a son Jack, 20, – are furious that he ignored the problem and permitted it to manifest.
This past October, Val showed up in small claims court over a dispute with a former landlord. He told the judge he was not able to speak because his tongue was swollen.
Recently Val and his son Jack were seen at a Los Angeles Clippers game where the actor was covering his neck with a scarf.
