Kardashian Family Friend Kathy Lee Gifford: “Kim Needs To Get Out Of The Spotlight!”
With her E! reality show, clothing lines, books and many endorsements, it’s safe to say that Kim Kardashian is one of the most exposed celebrities in the world. But longtime family friend Kathie Lee Gifford thinks the newly single socialite needs to step down and take a break from the business.
“If Kim truly wants to be happy, she needs to get out of the spotlight for a long time,” the morning show hostess — the godmother to Kim’s younger sisters Kendall and Kylie — told In Touch at the Today show’s 60th anniversary party in New York. “However long it takes to regroup and re-find herself.”
Kathie Lee even blames Kim’s obsession with the limelight for the demise of her 72-day marriage to Kris Humphries. “She was all caught up in the planning on it. So many people were expecting and counting on her,” the no-nonsense star, who has been married to Frank Gifford for over 25 years, explained. “And a marriage is not about other people. A marriage is about two people getting married.”
Despite her questionable decision-making, Kathie Lee insists Kim is a “very sweet girl,” and warns fans of the famous family’s hit show that things aren’t always as they seem on the small screen.
“Remember, it’s called reality television, but there’s no reality to it. It’s a show,” she says. “The reality is very different than what you see on TV.”
