The Biggest Loser: What you didn't see!

BiggestLoser0127.jpg Stephanie Anderson didn’t become the Biggest Loser — she was sent home after Koli convinced her friends that she was manipulating them — but she did change her life and find love with contestant Sam Poueu, which means she’s still very much invested in what happens next.

Stephanie, who has been giving In Touch readers exclusive insight into every episode, will now be weighing in on life at the ranch from a new perspective. This week, the contestants headed to Texas, home of the "five fattest cities in America," to encourage fans to get healthy and complete a 5K race. "It was one of my favorite episodes," Stephanie tells In Touch. "It was more about the viewers, people who find their motivation and inspiration through The Biggest Loser, season after season. Thinking about it, I get goose bumps again. The one regret I have about leaving is that I wasn’t able to experience that moment. I can see how touching it was for the contestants, and even Ali. Watching it, I was moved, so to have been there would have been something I would have loved."

You said you wished you could have been in Texas, but haven't you had any similar moments where you've gotten a chance to inspire others?
Oh yeah. I ran my first 5K last Sunday in San Diego with old sorority sisters for their fundraiser. I told my story and ran with a sorority sister who just had a baby three months ago who’s never run more than a mile. She was like, “I can’t do it. I’m going to run and walk it.” I said, “Why can’t you? You can. I’ll do it with you.” Toward the end, she said just "Go without me. I’m hurting.” And I said, “I’m hurting, too. We’re almost there.” We finished it. She ran 3.1 miles for the first time ever, and I got to share that with her. I was overcome with emotion. So we’re going to have those moments, but to watch it last night was really captivating to me.

Daris, Ashley and Michael finally realized they needed to team up if they wanted to stand a chance against the Yellow and Grey teams’ alliance.
I think Melissa would yell out “Hallelujah!” From what I understand, Dallas was the week where they finally realized they needed to focus their efforts and unify. I think they all didn’t realize how powerful the alliance was becoming, and now, they’re outnumbered. I can’t imagine what that felt like for Ashley, with still 101 pounds to go, knowing how close she was to Koli, and how she had formed a connection with Sunshine.

They still weren’t working together like the Grey and Yellow teams on the calf-wrangling challenge, even though Daris almost won anyway.
I think Michael started putting calves in Daris’s pen at one point. But by then, it was late. Like Jillian told Daris, “Life’s not fair.” It’s not fair how I exited. It’s not fair that Cherita never got on the ranch. It’s not fair that James was still 400 pounds and no one voted him back in. But it’s life. Jillian’s talk with Daris was really profound, because imagine you have been busting your butt, and now you’ve got two teams who are not only helping their teammates, but the other team. He finished one calf behind a team that had two strong men doing it. My feeling was always, “Why even try if I don’t have a chance?” But Daris didn’t think that way, and that’s why Daris is still there. I have so much respect for that.

He’s doing great, but he doesn’t have much left to lose!
That’s what I’m worried about. I could see toning with muscles, like Sam, but that’s putting on weight, so I don’t know. But he looks great. Daris definitely feels like he’s strong and capable, but I think he’s the only guy left who doesn’t see how cute he is!

O’Neal was voted off — what did you think about how he’s doing now?
He’s a witty, quirky, family man and now he’s good-looking! I loved the montage of the things he couldn’t do to the things he can do now. To see that first moment — where I just thought, “Wow, how does it feel for a man to have his wife tie his shoes?” — to him leaning over and tying his running shoes and looking so full of life, it really makes me feel good. And I think it will be a good opportunity for Sunshine. She said she wanted to stand on her own two feet, and she really hasn’t — she’s had the alliance with the Grey Team and her dad there. But she’s really getting to a size where I’m worried. I’m worried for her, Sam and Daris. The other three are at a good pace right now, if they can keep it up. They still have weight to lose.

Are you looking forward to next week?
Yes, it’s makeovers — I want to see how hot my honey looks! They’ve got to get rid of the hair. Sam looks rugged right now, but he’s so cute clean-shaven!
