Ryan and Tatum O’Neal furious at Farrah snub

While
Ryan and
Tatum O’Neal continue to fume over the omission of
Farrah Fawcett from the Oscar night tribute to deceased stars, a spokesman for the Academy says the late star, who died in June, was left out on purpose. Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences spokeswoman Leslie Unger said there’s only so much time during the “In Memoriam” portion of the broadcast. "Every year, it's an unfortunate reality that we can't include everybody," said Unger. Ryan says he and his daughter were watching the Oscars together, and that they were shocked that his longtime companion didn’t appear. "It was a terrible decision and very hurtful," says Ryan. "Farrah was a member of the Academy for over 40 years and we could not believe she did not get a mention." While Farrah is best remembered for her TV roles, she also appeared in movies, including
Man of the House,
The Cannonball Run,
Extremities and
The Apostle.
