The Biggest Loser: What you didn’t see!

BiggestLoser0127.jpg Stephanie Anderson started this season of The Biggest Loser with her mom, Patti, but the team was split up in week two when Patti was sent home. Now on her own, Stephanie, who just turned 30 yesterday, will be giving InTouchWeekly.com readers all the exclusive behind-the-scenes dish every week! The big shake-up happened early this week’s episode, when the Blue and Yellow teams came back to the ranch to compete for a chance to re-enter the competition. “I love how my jaw is always dropped!” laughs Stephanie of the shocker, in which the Yellow Team, Sunshine and O’Neal, ended up winning the chance to return. “Frankly — I know it’s part of the show and the game — but I didn’t want anyone to come back. I felt like I had been putting so much effort to be there and as much as I understood the twist, it stinks when you move closer each week and then they add two more people.”

Sunshine seems like big competition for you.
Sunshine is a very strong woman and she is competition, but I welcome it. And she needed help, too. She was freaking out about the running. I was like, “You can do it!”

Yes, you were such a great cheerleader with the group on the treadmills.
I don’t know how that came out of me. Trust me, there were few and far between moments like that for me. But I definitely fell in love with running early on. At that point I had been trying to run a lot on my own time, when I wasn’t with Bob and Jillian, just so I could be prepared when I got into the gym with them because I knew they were going to make me run. I just felt like at that moment, Cheryl and Sunshine were having a tough time and looking to me. Drea and Michael also seemed like they needed some motivation. It helps me to do that. It made me not want to stop because I felt like “I can’t let these people down.”

Did you try to ingratiate yourself with the Yellow Team?
What you see is what you get with me. I never would try to befriend people for game purposes. My goal was to lose as much weight as possible each week, regardless of what the situation was. If they weren’t good people, my heart would not have reached out for them.

How did you manage the football challenge, considering that you described yourself as a girlie-girl?
I am such a girlie-girl! Before the challenge, I was asking all the boys for tips. Lance and Dan gave me tips and John gave me a little pep talk. Once I got into my groove, I thought, “I can really do this.” The fact that I was the first female to finish was a significant point for me at this point of the game, because I realized how strong I am. As girlie of a girl that I am, I’m still fierce.

Anything we didn’t see?
After I finished, I was so exhausted. I walked straight ahead and Drea’s pad hit me and almost knocked me down. It was the funniest blooper! I was like, “Please don’t play that!”

What did you look forward to every day at the ranch?
I looked forward to the Presidential Mile. I would put my headphones on and speed-walk or jog. It was my time to zen out and think about the upcoming day. I always looked forward to a nice healthy breakfast. I am addicted to Fage Greek Yogurt. It’s only 90 calories and 15 grams of protein. It’s delicious. I put a little Truvia in it and blueberries. It tastes just like Pinkberry to me.

What didn’t you like?
Some days you have an off day or you’re emotional and don’t feel like dealing with stuff. For me, it was doing whatever I could to re-motivate myself, allow Bob and Jillian to do their work and to surrender to the process. This is my journey and it’s up to me to own it.

Could you have stayed in bed late if you wanted?
On a day when they weren’t filming, yes. Some people did sleep in. I was usually up around seven-ish. After hearing from Bob and Jillian that doing anything early in the morning will give your metabolism a jump-start. I always wanted to take advantage of that, especially when others were not.

At the weigh-in, you lost five pounds!
At this point, Bob and Jillian mentioned that they felt I was finding my groove with my weight loss.

Were you surprised that John, who was your partner for a week, went home?
I was totally surprised. He was working out at a great intensity and sweating. I have no idea why the number didn’t translate on the scale. This happens. It happened for Koli. He lost six pounds and he knows that should have been a big number. Sometimes our bodies just need to adjust or we’re overtraining them or we’re not giving them enough calories and they go into starvation mode or we have water influx. There are so many things that can happen. It was such a sad night. It was the first time that there was no deliberation so there was no time to let it sink in. We were all just in shock. It’s going to be a struggle for him at home. He has some injuries and he has a busy life, but I have no doubt that he will get there.
