Super Bowl, super ratings

Maybe it was the lure of Kim Kardashian’s boyfriend, Reggie Bush, or maybe it was a chance for snowbound Americans to see the sun in Miami, but Sunday’s Super Bowl shattered every record to become the most-watched TV show in U.S. history. About 107 million tuned in to CBS to watch Reggie’s New Orleans Saints win Super Bowl XLIV, topping the series finale of M*A*S*H, which drew 106 million viewers in 1983. Experts say a combination of a tight game, the feel-good story of the underdog Saints and big snowstorms that kept people indoors were the real reason for the smash ratings.
