Friends and family grieve at DJ AM’s funeral

DJAM0903.jpg Five days after his tragic death, Adam "DJ AM" Goldstein’s family members and close friends, including Benji and Joel Madden, Celebrity Rehab’s Seth Binzer, and Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker, held a small funeral for the late celebrity deejay at the Hillside Memorial Park and Mortuary in LA on the afternoon of September 2.

After an hourlong service in the main chapel, the mourners moved to the gravesite, where they crowded around Adam's white-flower-adorned casket as a rabbi solemnly spoke. “Everyone was hugging and rubbing each other's backs to comfort one another,” an eyewitness tells In Touch. Before embarking to Dinah’s Family Restaurant to break bread and further remember the life of the star, guests embraced his shaken mother and his girlfriend, Hayley Wood. “He was just a normal guy, happy and fun. It seemed like he didn't have any problems,” friend DJ Shawn Quintana told In Touch outside the somber scene.

Adam was discovered dead of an suspected drug overdose in his New York apartment on August 28. Another memorial will be held today at the Hollywood Palladium in LA.
