Family, friends, and fans to grieve at Michael Jackson’s memorial
In addition to his famous family and the 11,000 lucky fans who will attend Michael Jackson’s memorial service, a slew of celebs will also pay tribute to the late King of Pop on the morning of July 7 in LA’s Staples Center. The Jackson family has confirmed that powerhouse divas Mariah Carey and Jennifer Hudson will perform, with Michael’s pals Stevie Wonder, Lionel Richie, and Brooke Shields also making appearances. The music legend, who shocked the world when he passed away on June 25, will also be remembered by famous devotees Usher and John Mayer, with Beyonce and Whitney Houston also reportedly attending. Noticeably absent from the memorial will be Debbie Rowe, the mother of Michael’s children Prince Michael, 12, and Paris, 11. “We have concluded with Debbie that she will not be attending. Debbie will continue to celebrate Michael’s memory privately,” a lawyer for the star’s ex-wife said in a statement to In Touch. Before the massive event, which will be broadcast live on TV by ABC, CNN, HLN, MSNBC, and E!, the family will reportedly grieve with a private memorial at the Forest Lawn Memorial in the Hollywood Hills.
