Brit’s permanent conservatorship begins

As of January 5, Britney Spears is no longer legally in charge of herself officially. The singer’s father Jamie was granted permanent conservatorship of Britney’s personal affairs back in October in Los Angeles Superior Court. He shares control over her finances with attorney Andrew Wallet. The papers detailing the pop star’s finances states that she “is substantially unable to manage ... her financial resources or to resist fraud or undue influence.” As for her personal state of affairs, Britney “is unable properly to provide for his or her personal needs for physical health, food, clothing or shelter.” Jamie is also given “the power to restrict and limit visitors by any means.” Britney did not object to the conservatorship ruling in October and did not appear in court on Monday.
