Trendsetter, multiplatinum recording artist and multiple music-award winner Rihanna is now a humanitarian, too! The Barbados songstress is once again teaming up with Gucci for its 2008 holiday campaign to benefit UNICEF. Gucci’s creative director, Frida Giannini, designed a unique collection of products including handbags, shoes and small accessories, and a portion of funds raised from sales will go directly to UNICEF to support education, healthcare and clean-water programs in sub-Saharan Africa. Rihanna was thrilled when they asked her to be the face of this campaign, saying, “The work that UNICEF does in the world is so incredible and I am honored to be able to join forces with Gucci to create this amazing campaign that will contribute to UNICEF.” She adds, “I think this campaign and the sales of these beautiful products can make a difference in places where it is really needed.”
