Nicole's new online charity

Motherhood has really changed Nicole Richie. The petite starlet, who rose to fame as Paris Hilton's even-wilder sidekick, has now turned her attention to a new charity. As part of The Richie-Madden Children's Foundation, Nicole will be launching an online gift registry for needy mothers and their children this fall. Families sign up through local social-service agencies and a list of the things they need, like cribs or blankets, will be posted on the web site. Donors can then look at the registry list and decide what they want to contribute. Nicole and boyfriend Joel Madden want to feature baby products that they use with their 7-month-old daughter, Harlow. The registry will first be geared toward families in New York and LA before expanding nationally and internationally.
