Angelina to take over for Tom

It's rare to have a female action hero, and rarer still to have a male part rewritten for a woman, but Angelina Jolie is clearly no ordinary actress. The mother-of-six Oscar winner is being tapped to take over the lead role in the spy thriller Edwin A. Salt, which was originally meant for Tom Cruise. However, the role is now being rewritten for Angie, though she's not signed on yet for the film. Several other actors, including Tom, were interested in the project, but once Tom dropped out, Angelina started seriously being considered for the role. It would be her first time back to work on a movie set after giving birth to her twins last month.
