How are you feeling?
James: I've got a couple of antibiotics and some finger exercises and I'm all right.

Considering you're one of the strongest players ever, how did it feel to have an infected finger knock you out of the game?
James: It sucked. It was kind of weird to think that I could be kicked out of the game because of my finger. But I did, and that's something I had to deal with.

How serious was it?
James: To me, personally it wasn't that serious. But apparently it was near the joint, and if it went into my bloodstream I could have died. I watch a lot of Westerns, so I think I could have just sucked out the infection and been okay. [laughs]

You ate anything and everything that was put in front of you, including bat soup. Were you just that hungry, or is that normal for you?
James: No, I'll pretty much eat anything. One of my friends makes something with fresh duck breast and cilantro and mixes it with the duck blood and it's honestly really good. The bat tasted like wet rabbit. It wasn't seasoned very well but as long as you don't eat the fur, it's all good.

Did you like Micronesia better than China?
James: Definitely. Micronesia was great. I was on the beach. We had a cave and food falling from the sky. There were clams, sharks and everything else you could imagine to keep you well-fed. And, there were attractive women on the island. Needless to say, I was way happier. I was all smiles in Micronesia. I didn't even mind the rain because we had a cave. In China, if it was raining, we were getting rained on. This was like a vacation, for real. China was hard by comparison.

After you left, Eric was the only guy on the island. Do you think he stands a chance against those women?
James: Eric's a young guy. It's going to be rough for him. Young guys, like Jason who got voted out last week, believe anything the pretty girls say. There are some grown, strong-minded women who are going to run all over him. I think he's going to fall for it.

You're on the jury, so who's got your vote right now?
James: Amanda. She got me in China, but there is something about her I really do enjoy being around. I hope she does the best.

What's next for you?
James: I'm moving to Malibu beach and just going to hang out. Being a beach bum is my dream.
